Beech trees are decidious with unique seasonal colour and shaped foliage. They are best used in landscapes to create shade and privacy. American Beech, also called North American Beech, is the only beech tree native to North America – specifically Eastern North America from the US and southeastern Canada, including all of Nova Scotia. It grows well in partial sun, but does best in full sun. The leaves emerge silvery-green, then change to darker green in the summer.
