Liatris spicata, or Blazing Star as it is commonly named, is a native clump forming perennial with narrow grass-like foliage and tall spikes covered in violet-purple flowers. It blooms mid to late summer, has lovely fragrance, and is exceptional in the attraction of pollinators. It is a great choice for a mixed border or pollinator garden and also makes a unique cut flower.
