American Elder is a native shrub with long arching branches with dark green leaves. Clusters of delicate cremy-white fragrant flowers appear in summer followed by dark purple-black fruit that is attractive to birds. The fruit is aso good for jellies, juice and wine.
This shrub makes an excellent specimen plant or as a wind/privacy screen.
