#3 “Summer Crush” Hydrangea Macro
Summer Crush hydrangea displays stunning re-blooming pink or blue mophead-type blooms all summer long. Colours can range from bright pink, as seen in accompanying photos, to blue-violet, depending on your soil’s pH (see Note below).
– Part sun to shade
– Moist well-drained soil
– Grows 3-4′ H x 3-4′ W
– Flowers spring to fall
– After final frost apply a slow-release fertilizer
– Zones 4-9
Note:
If you prefer the blooms to be a bluer colour, you can add Aluminum Sulphate to lower the pH and make the soil more acidic. To change the blooms to pink, you can use Make It Pink to increase the soil pH.
